This Saturday night, Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramirez (42-0, 28 KOs) from Mazatlan, Mexico goes against Yunieski Gonzalez (21-3, 17 KOs), from Cuba, in a WBA light heavyweight title eliminator at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas.
Ramirez is the former WBO Super Middleweight champion and he defended his title five times before moving into the light heavyweight division and winning the NABF Light Heavy Weight title a year ago.
Formerly with Top Rank, he is now promoted by Golden Boy Promotions and is searching for another world title now in the light heavyweight division. Eventually he hopes to take on the divisions champions, WBO champion Joe Smith Jr., IBF and WBC champion, Artur Beterbiev [ 17-0, 17 KO's ], and WBA champion Dmitry Bivol.
The 12-round fight is on Saturday, December 18th and will be live on DAZN ( 8 p.m) and it is scheduled WBA Light Heavyweight Title eliminator and will be held at AT&T Center in San Antonio, TX.
Also scheduled on the card is champion Marlen Esparza (10-1) who will be defending her WBC Flyweight Title against Anabel Ortiz (31-4).
Before the main event, there is a full card of fights, including Seniesa Estrada (21-0, 8 KO's) who goes against Maria Santizo (9-0, 5 KO's) as the Co-Main Event for the WBA Minimum Weight Title.
