In addition to the exciting main event between super lightweights Pablo "El Demoledor" Cesar Cano (30-5-1, 21 KOs) and Fidel "The Atrisco Kid" Maldonado Jr. (23-3-1, 19 KOs) who are squaring off for the vacant WBC Fecarbox super lightweight title, Dallas' Oscar Mojica (10-2, 1 KO) will be going against Golden Boy Prospect Joshua "The Professor" Franco (10-0, 5 KOs) of San Antonio for the WBC Youth Silver Super Flyweight title.
Mojica, a Dallas fan favorite for the past several years, steps into the ring this time against the undefeated Franco in a eight round battle for the green WBC belt. Mojica has won the last two of his last three fights and in his last fight in Dallas, he defeated Josue Morales (4-6-3) from Houston, Texas by unanimous decision.
Dallas' Bantamweight Mojica is always in the gym and stays fight ready, but this will be one of his toughest opponents so far. Franco, who hails south of Dallas in San Antonio will be putting his undefeated record on the line for the WBC Youth Silver Super Flyweight belt in what is expected to be a super Co-Main Event on the Golden Boy Boxing on ESPN fight card.
Super lightweight prospect Vergil Ortiz, Jr. (5-0, 5 KOs) will be scheduled to go six tough rounds for the first time against a soon-to-be-named opponent.
Dallas-based Golden Boy prospects Javier Martinez (1-0, 1 KO), a super featherweight, and Alex Rincon (1-0, 1 KO), a super welterweight, will appear in separate bouts with Martinez to face an opponent to be named and Rincon is fighting against Saul Palacios (1-0, 1 KO) of El Paso.
