InTheRing.net caught up with Dallas' bantamweight Oscar Mojica (12-5-1) at the DelBosque Gym in Dallas, Texas.
It has been a while since his last fight against Paddy Barnes (6-3, 1 KO) in Madison Square Garden, in which he upset the home town kid, but he is more than eager to get back in the ring.
This time he steps up to the plate as a featherweight against undefeated Richard Medina (11-0, 6 kO's) from San Antonio, Texas in a schedule eight round bout promoted by Rick Morones from TMB Promotions.
Mojica has been in training specifically for this fight the last two months and putting in work for this upcoming fight, although he is always in the gym.
He takes all his opponents serious and said "I know Medina is an up and coming undefeated fighter, and I know he is young and hungry, but I am hoping that with my experience I can come out with the win.
Mojica is the former WBO NABO bantamweight champion and the former WBC United States (USNBC) Super Flyweight champion.
He is trained by his Father and professional trainer Hector Pena and his younger
brother will be in his corner on fight night along with all his fans from Dallas, Texas.
Mojica is very excited about this fight as it will the Main Event of the night in front of great Texas boxing fans.
He has been putting in good work and said " the move up in weight will play out in my favor, and I have been sparring with heavier and top quality fighters from Dallas."
