In two months, Dallas boxing fans will be treated to a world title boxing fight, something that hasn't been done around here in a long time. On June 16, 2018, at the new Ford Center At The Star in Frisco, Texas, home of the Dallas Cowboys, history will be made and Errol "The Truth" Spence, Jr. (23-0, 20KO's), the best welterweight in the world will put on a show.
There are other welterweight champions out there, such as Keith Thurman, Danny Garcia, and Jeff Horn, but none of them want a piece of "The Truth" and that is the Truth. Spence is talking about unifying the titles and bringing them all back to Dallas, and it is just a matter of time, but it will only come about after all these other guys get off the so-called injured list and step up to the plate.
The intense stare-down was at the Star in Frisco, Texas and Spence's opponent Carlos Ocampo (22-0, 13 KO's), who has never fought in any other place than his home country of Mexico, will be facing the biggest challenge of his boxing career.
This will be Spence's second defense of his IBF Welterweight Title and his first defense of his title in his home town of Dallas, Texas. He originally won the belt from Kell Brook (37-2, 26KO's) in May of 2017 in England.
The fight will be televised on SHOWTIME and presented by Premier Boxing Champions.
Tickets for the event, which is promoted by TGB Promotions in association with Man Down Promotions, go on sale Friday, May 4 at 10 a.m. CT and can be purchased at www.SeatGeek.com.
